In what ways might emotional intelligence help or hinder the pursuit of knowledge

IQ, referring to the intelligence of an individual was the indication for the success of an individual in life, and that is set genetically and can’t change. ... The element this essay will focus on is called the EQ (emotional intelligence). ...
First, I’ll define knowledge. The philosopher Socrates differed between Knowledge and wisdom, where knowledge is about learning specific areas such as profession, art, and wisdom – the interpretation done through thought and through connecting definitions. The craving for knowledge is originated in the Erus; the will of life, and that is the search for what is missing in the person, acknowledging the existence of contrasting elements and the difference between humans. There is a craving for knowledge that comes from the fear of lacking it, and this is a direct connection between emotions and knowledge. ...
There are different stages during ones life that completes the pursuit for knowledge. ...
It is important to note that there are different aspects of knowledge (practical, physical, spiritual…) and that there is a connection between a persons knowledge and his moral behaviour. For example, I believe it is essential and morally correct for me to serve in the Israeli army, and I derived that from my practical knowledge about the situation in Israel. Orthodox Jews believe that they are serving the country by serving God, because that is the religious knowledge they have.
From the above it can be understood that in order to achieve knowledge you must therefore learn. I will base my essay on the connection between emotional intelligence and learning, because this is directly connected to gaining knowledge.
What is emotional intelligence?
Different people define emotional intelligence in different ways. Daniel Golman made the most ‘famous’ definition (this was the first published book about the subject that brought it to public attention) in his book “Emotional Intelligence”. He defines it as follows: (translated from Hebrew): The emotional intelligence refers to abilities such as: the induction of the self acknowledgement and to a better management of our suppressing emotions, self motivation, consistency, the ability to control impulses and prospone satisfactions, the ability to control mood swings and refrain troubles to take over the ability to think, the ability to experience empathy and to feel hope.
