1.0 Introduction The aim of this report is to educate businesses on the etiquette, customs and culture of business in other countries to enhance business relationships. The two countries selected are Japan and France, these countries are very dissimilar in their business practices and these will be compared and contrasted throughout and evaluated to decide which country is an ideal trading partner to Australia. All the material in this report is from reliable internet sources as this is the easiest way to gather this kind of information. Flags of Japan and France have also been included as appendices. 2.0 Time Zones 2.1 Japans Time Zone Japans Standard time is 9 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean time (GMT+9). Japan does not observe daylight savings time. 2.2 Frances Time Zone France is in the Central European Time zone (CET) which is 1 hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time. In summer the time is shifted back 1 hour for daylight savings which is 2 hours ahead of Greenwich mean time (GMT+2) 2.3 Compared Japan has the closest time zone to Australia (Australia is GMT+10) so business phone calls would be easier to arrange than with France.
