James Chadwick
James Chadwick was born in Cheshire, England, on 20th October, 1891. He was one of three children of John Joseph Chadwick and Anne Mary Knowles. Chadwick planned to study math, but began to study physics by mistake in 1908, and ended up with a Master of Science from the University of Manchester, 1912. In 1914 Chadwick went to study under Hans Geiger at the Technische Hochschule in Berlin which today is the Technical University of Berlin.
