I don’t think students are learning the content they need for high school science classes. I think you should cover a wider area of science than you have in the past years. For example, I think involving students in hands on experiments would prepare them for the type of work they’ll be doing in high school.
According to the Kentucky Performance Report (Science Questionnaire) taken by students at Farnsley, students use equipment like microscopes, beakers, etc in their investigations sometimes, but not every week, which was the most popular answer to this question with 54%. ...
I believe the lack of hands on labs done at Farnsley is not enough preparation for a course as hard as those at an MST school like Manual. The science program is something valued at MST schools therefore a school that is supposed to have the same programs as Manual should stress it just as much.
