The Marine Intertidal Zone
The intertidal marine life zone is the area located between high and low tide. ... During low tide, you can walk in the intertidal zone. A variety of marine organisms are found in the intertidal zone.
The intertidal life zone is divided into four sub-zones. These zones include: the spray zone, upper intertidal zone, mid intertidal zone, and the lower intertidal zone.
Things which characterize the spray zone are: it is wet by rain water and ocean spray. Species in this sub zone can tolerate salinity changes due to evaporation and rain.
