The discovery of Penicillin can in a sense, be considered as an accident. However, it is an accident, which has to this day, saved many lives and cured people from fatal bacterial infections. It is quite easy to understand why this drug was formerly known as “the miracle drug” Alexander Fleming, a doctor and researcher at St. Mary's Hospital in London, England was the first to discover Penicillin and it’s germ-killing powers. His battlefront experience in WWI had shown him how serious a killer bacteria could be, much worse even than enemy artillery.
