Environmentalists have studied the affects of destroying the rainforests and know how harmful it is; therefore their position would be against it. Economists are in it to make money to be happy for a little while. People living near the rainforests lives will be at stake. The large corporations destroying the rainforests jobs will be at risk if they can no longer tear them down. The Issue has not changed over time. This is a worldwide problem. What makes this important now is the realization of the danger to human beings.
