In this essay I will explain what catalyst and enzymes are, their respective roles in our lives and how they do the jobs they are designed for.

A Fun example of an Enzyme
To create a hard centered chocolate its very easy all the confectioners do is pour the molten chocolate over the center and leave it to set, but what do they do with soft centers they cannot pour molten chocolate over it because it will not keep its shape. ... This is a fun example but enzymes are being used increasingly more in medicine, Industry and biotechnology.
What are Enzymes?
Enzymes are complex chemicals that control reactions in living cells, they are biochemical catalysts speeding up slower reactions so they are useful to the organism. A key word for a biochemical catalyst is control, Enzymes interact with other more simple molecules to produce a better, more stable reaction system in which the products of a reaction are made exactly when they are needed in the correct amounts needed.
