Follow the following steps to perform the experiment (Taken from Biology 1406 & 1408 Lab Manuel, Fourth Edition, by Bell, Butler, Cardenas, Helgeson, McCulloch, Rich, Weis, Whitney) A) Place approximately 25-30 g of potassium hydroxide (KOH) in the respiration chamber. ... Place the animal in the respiration chamber and cover the chamber with a paper towel or a jacket to shield the animal from light and provide a calm environment. ... Securely insert the rubber stopper into the end of the respiration chamber. ... F) After collecting sufficient data, remove the animal from the respiration chamber and return it to its cage. ...
