... Yes, ladies and gentleman, this is called fear. ... I do not think that there is anybody here in this room who can truly vouch and say that they have never experienced some sort of fear in their lives at any point in time or another. But what really is this feeling of fear all about and why do we get it?
Fear, is a sensation that grips the mind and soul, racing the heartbeat; making the hair stand on end and sending shivers down the spine. ... Some examples of fear would include the fear of rejection or failure, and the fear of darkness and maybe fears of the supernatural that may cause you to even wet your pants! However fear in the extreme is called a phobia. ... The primary fear of man then and now is that of survival. ... And no, I am not talking about the global warming fears or the other natural catastrophes that happen from time to time, or even the fear of deadly viruses such as SARS, but yes I am talking about our survival from ourselves.
