Argument Essay What do you think of when someone mentions the military to you? Do the words strength, training, endurance, job skills, and opportunities come to mind? All of these are benefits a person receives after joining the military. Every eighteen year old person should have to serve at least two years in a branch of the military. First, the military does not pay soldiers very high salaries, but what they do receive is money that can be pocketed. The military pays in more ways than just money. For example, a soldier does not carry the burden of a house or rent payment. The military provides apartments or houses on base for the soldiers to share. My cousin Kevin, who is in the Air Force, lives on base with a friend of his in a nice house and pays no rent, no payment, no nothing. Good food is also provided for those that live on base. There is a cafeteria where soldiers can get meals free of charge. My cousin Jeff, who is in also in the Air Force, is a very picky eater, but he eats the cafeteria food with no complaints.
