Black Girl is a film that tells a story of a black woman leaving her homeland to work as a maid for a white couple. This film was directed by Ousmane Sembene in 1966 and originates from Senegal. A Senegalese woman named Dioumana leaves her home in Senegal to work for the couple in France. At first, she is ecstatic. She talks about all the shops there and of all the fashionable clothes she will purchase.
