The game of soccer has been around since the year 1609 A. ... The United States has just fairly recently entered the soccer age, where as the rest of the world became obsessed upon the first World Cup held in Uruguay in 1930. Soccer, or football as it is called everywhere else, though seeming a slow gentleman’s sport in the eye of American football fans (and all Americans in general), is quite a complex activity. When soccer was started in the States, coaches and parents would just send the players onto the field for the start of the match, but they quickly learned that each participant in a game has their own duties to perform before the whistle.
In the soccer world, as most sports, there are four basic groups of people preparing for the game. ... Athletes are expected to ‘warm-up’ and stretch before an activity, and this is especially true in soccer. Unlike mostly every sport I can imagine, soccer in its highest form requires players to play the entire 90 minutes with a small break at 45.
