First Swimming Lesson In the summer of 2000, I went to Myrtle Beach with my family. I saw people swim out far, and I wanted to do the same. The only problem was I didn’t know how to swim. I was in the water, but it only came a little above my waist. I was afraid to go out because I might drown.
