|
|
|
The purpose of training is “to improve the physiological capacity of an athlete to bring about the best performance possible” (Williams et al, 1999, p124). The importance of a high-quality, safe and well balanced training program is essential to elite athletes wanting to improve their physical capacity. To achieve desired results athletes require training programs which are relevant and specific to their sport, this essay will be presenting information on how effective and safe some training programs would be for tennis. In terms of safe training the attached training program (appendix A) would be safe and effective at improving some areas of tennis player’s physical needs and his/her performance.
