Music 101 3-21-02 Prof. Mitchell Concert Report #1 After recently attending “A World of Songs and Dances”, performed by the Binghamton University Wind Ensemble, I am impressed by all the different dances that are existent in different cultures throughout the world and history. This performance consisted of a variety of songs and dances from nationalities around the world, including Scottish, Spanish, Irish, British, and French. The band itself was remarkable in the fact that they all knew exactly when and how to play, following the conductor’s lead. Some of the students in the ensemble, I either know or have seen before on campus, and it was interesting to discover they had such talent that I never knew of beforehand.
