TASK 1 A good warm up helps to encourage a more professional approach, helps build team spirit and helps improve performance. Warm muscles are more efficient than cold muscles as they contract more forcefully and stretch more readily. Warming up can decrease the risk of injury and mentally prepares you for the match ahead . A cool down is important to help prevent soreness and increase flexibility. It has been shown that flexibility is best increased when working on muscles that are completely warmed up, such as after physical activity. Our cool downs are very simple with players performing light jogging, skipping, high heels, high knees, side-to-side movements, etc., at a medium to slow pace. After 2 to 4 minutes of light motion, the players spend about 5 to 10 minutes stretching. Although it is easy to overlook, we must always have our players perform cool downs to help their bodies adjust from intense activity to little activity. A WARM UP FOR TENNIS  You should initially take the major joints like hips, knees, shoulders and ankles through their full available range.  Use the following joint rotations as examples to lubricate the entire joint before activity.
