Oxford University - Rough Draft Oxford University has served as a model for other colleges throughout the world. Its city boasts an incredible number of 40 colleges within its town (Baedeker’s 462). Historically, a simple reason for its influence towards other colleges reveals Oxford University as being one of the most ancient colleges still standing today (Wright 183). The glamourous gardens and beautiful scenery of this campus interests many eager college-bound students (Baedeker’s 461). While other colleges’ main interest show education as their priority, Oxford’s attention is focused on education as well as a good environment. Oxford University has expanded throughout the centuries. Henry II and Cecil Rhodes contributed to Oxford University’s development. The year Oxford University was completely built is unknown to the exact date, but the year 1096 seems to rectify its origins of teaching (Oxford).
