BRIGHTON MANUNGO EN 135 ESSAY # DR B BURRISS THE STAMPEDE When I regained consciousness, my mother and father were seating besides my bed looking very apprehensive. A ventilator was attached to my nose coupled with a feeding tube to my veins. I was glad to see my parents although I could not talk to them because of the equipment that was put to my mouth. Besides all this, I was grateful that I was alive for I had survived one of the most horrific incidences I have ever witnessed in my life time. What had started as a beautiful Sunday afternoon ended with more than a dozen people dead and hundreds in hospitals across the town. The match had been referred to as the match of the century.
