Be clear and forceful. It is ironic that the same qualities that can put you on top or characterize you as a leader can also lead to hurt and anxiety. I guess I did not realize that my natural tendency to lead, excel and stand out might, at times, be at the cost of the feelings of others. Although my assertive personality has helped me attain a lot of goals, I may have missed some lessons in diplomacy and discretion along the way, I am learning the hard way that not everyone appreciates my confident nature and that I need to know my audience and adjust accordingly.
