Dear School Administration, Day-by-day, week-by-week, year-by-year, our school’s crimes are increasing. Our ISS prison, like the downtown prison, is overflowing. Out-of-school suspensions are becoming commonplace, and tardies are becoming numerous. Since our school’s punishments are too anemic, the students are taking advantage of the situation. Having realized that they are not going to face stiff consequence, the students are not abiding by the rules. If we don’t stop this malignant tumor at its root, our school will turn into a nursing home. Having very few suspensions in the past couple of years, our school is one of the most honored schools in the state. In contrast, we now have more than two hundred suspensions already, seventy-five percent of them being freshmen.
