Advantages to Community Schooling

Too often technology has been seen as "glitz and glamour" and no real "guts" for assisting in learning. Many within the education field have questioned the real usefulness of high tech within our schools, starting from K through 12. We even see technology being utilized as online schooling options. Are their concerns legitimate? Most definitely yes, but they are short-term fears. Here is why. The technology is incredibly promising and powerful. It is agreed that it has been misused, but so much of the technology is brand new. A recent report issued by Congress' bipartisan Web-Based Education Commission, led by former Senator Bob Kerrey of Nebraska, argued that educational technology hasn't yet moved from "promise to practice." Nevertheless, the "power of the Internet to transform the educational experience is awe-inspiring." Education experts agree.
