As we begin this chapter we find out why IT is important to us. We are all part of an ever growing and changing information society, and in the business world if you can’t keep up, you may get left behind. Personal computers or PC’s can help people do things that we might have never dreamed possible, like carry on a video/audio conversation with a relative half way around the world, or order a pizza from your computer. Those are two examples of how a computer, hooked into the internet can make our lives easier. The Internet is a worldwide network of computers that allows people access to limitless resources. Other uses of the Internet that can be fun and entertaining could be to watch streaming video, listen to music, play games with friends across the globe, or just chat with millions of online users. Managing data - In computers the characters zxcv are represented by a group of bits (1s and 0s), the coding system used is ASCII. The order for other terms of size for computers are bit, byte, kilobyte, megabyte, gigabyte, terabyte.. The Internet or the net, is a collection of computers around the world that all form a network, a global village.
