Compaq announced two fundamental changes to its sales and channels model at its Innovate Forum. Though the vendor stressed its commitment to partnering--"its in the Compaq DNA"--both of the announced moves acknowledge that, in some instances, direct sales and/or supply models can increase customer satisfaction and lower costs.
The first change the vendor outlined was the formation and expansion of Direct Global Sales and Service Organization: Compaq will double the number of global account managers in the U. ...
