Definition of Technology

Technology as defined in the book is “… the complex of techniques, knowledge, and resources that are employed by human beings in the creation of material and social artifacts that typically serve certain functions perceived as useful or desirable in relation to human interests in various social contexts.” (Pg 4,5) This is a very good broad description of technology and does not limit it to just items that have been produced as a result of technology (any people today do just think of technology as tangible items and nothing else)
Technology is comprised of techniques, human activity forms, or socio-technical practices that society has accepted and uses.
