English Literary Devices

My article is made up of many different parts. It is full of letters written to Newsweek about and concerning September 11th. It talks about the 433 Americans who have died in the war and how they are immensely heroic. Many people are commenting upon how sad they are for the people fighting in the war, and for their families. Questions are being asked throughout the article such as, “What do the Chechens have to do with Al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein?” Some suggest that we must make sacrifices for the better of the country, and that we need “to be totally committed as a nation to achieve our final goal.” Others say that we need to “stop pointing fingers and complaining about other grieving families, and instead bond in a time of loss.” Catherine Taylor compliments the men and women in uniform, and concludes, “They are what stands between us and another 9/11.” A good portion of the end of the article talks about patriotism and what defines a true patriot.
