The relationship between communication technologies and the globalization are coexisted with each other, although the definition of communication technologies and the globalization can be independently analyzed in terms of the numerous respects in which these two important phenomena are unrelated to one another. The telecommunication industry is experiencing a profound transformation, but nowhere are those changes taking place so fast as in the Asia-Pacific region. This essay will discuss some of the aspects and to explain how new communication technologies (NCTs) have assisted the process of globalization in the region and ways in which Asian countries have used NCTs to their own benefit.
Global communication at the end of the twentieth century is in the midst of a revolution that is a product of the convergence of three technological innovations: communication satellites, computers, and digitization. Digitization transform s any form if information –text, sound, and pictures- into a simple binary code that can be transmitted instantly through a global network of computers linked by satellite, all elements of communication are accelerating at an exponential rate. ...
