Napster VS Music Industry
... In order to improve the convenience of information sharing, software like Napster has been launched. Basically, Napster allows internet users to search and download music files directly from other users¡¦ computers for free, which are connected to the Napster network. In addition, it shares music files in the form of mp3, which requires little storage space and still performs with a quality similar to that of a music CD. Unsurprisingly, Napster becomes very popular not long after it first launched. However, it was a couple of years ago that music companies and musicians started suing Napster because they believe that it is the main delinquent who caused the downfall on the music industry; also, it will have a negative impact on the music industry. Nonetheless, as an ex-Napster user, I strongly disagree with the above statement.
