Parity Error Checking: A parity is a mechanism used to verify the integrity of data by making the number of bits in a byte sum to either odd or even number. Parity Error Checking is the process of comparing the parity of data read from a disk with the type of parity used by the system. Parity tracks the integrity of data on a disk. Advantage of this error checking is quicker troubleshooting. When a glitch in the system arises, a parity checking error usually means its related to memory.
